The Development Chef of the Saunton Sands Hotel, Dez Turland, has had a rich and varied career in the culinary industry.
After completing college in the Midlands, he ventured to London where he soon found himself working in the Ritz Hotel Piccadilly alongside Michael Quinn MBE, where he learned valuable industry experience. He earned his first position as Head Chef in 1990 at the Greenbank Hotel, and has since earned multiple venues prestigious accolades.
In 2008 he took on the role of Development Chef for Brend Hotels, where he was in charge of 11 hotels, two restaurants and 75 chefs in the South West. He is an active member of the Craft Guild of Chefs and the British Culinary Federation of Chefs.
