A fun, interactive workshop based on the national ‘Love Food Hate Waste’ campaign, sharing life hacks to serve your perfect portions and what to do if you’ve cooked too much or too little. Participants receive a pack of tips, tools and inspiration to make the most of the food they love.
As a nation of food lovers and waste haters, it’s surprising how much of our food ends up in the bin. The two main reasons food gets discarded from our homes is because we cook and prepare too much or we don’t use it in time. Discovering easy ways to serve your perfect portions saves your food and saves you money. By making a few small changes every day, we can all cut food waste at home and make a real difference to our pockets and the planet.
The workshop is run by Beth Prince, Community Engagement Officer at Somerset Waste Partnership, which supports ‘Love Food Hate Waste’. Beth co-ordinates SWP’s Food Champions scheme, training volunteers to pass on tips and advice in their community.
